This nice piece of work went up today in Dupont Circle. I'm not certain who is behind it, but I love how it looks with the fountain in the background. I wish we had more of this kind of thing throughout the city.

Public art is ridiculously awesome and I'd love to see more of it around DC... but I can't say that I'd call this particular example "ridiculously awesome". Pretty bland, I'd say. Unoriginal. Better than nothing, though.
This is cool: http://theartaround.us/ and it does allow you to look for temporary art (though no temporary public art currently shows up).
Want to know more about the giant LOVE sign in Dupont Circle? check out my facebook page for clues - the mystery will be revealed on Friday.

ROFL. 'Ridiculously awesome?' How about ridiculously hackneyed. It is an advertisement for Virginia funny enough, which is rather ironic for the Old Dominion to be promoting in Dupont, considering that the state is pretty anti-gay and conservative hell.
Even if it was a real public art display, painfully boring, really? LOVE? So engaging and thought provoking...barf!
OK, apparently my tongue-in-cheek reference to a fellow local blogger has gon unnoticed. just to clarify things: http://www.princeofpetworth.com/2011/02/ridiculously-awesome-album-cover-of-the-week-92/
