My friend just texted me with a picture of the new sign that says street sweeping happens today (Tuesday), when it's always been Thursday on that block and that side. All of the streets between R and U are now Monday/Tuesday (at least between 15th and 19th), when it used to be that some streets were Monday/Tuesday and some were Wednesday/Thursday. This makes it much more annoying and difficult to find a space to park your car in the neighborhood on Monday or Tuesday. And while the new signs are nice, is this really the best use of limited government resources?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2095284393772305956.post-42811400933068225702011-02-28T21:42:16.133-05:002011-02-28T21:42:16.133-05:00Does street sweeping actually start next week? The Department of Public Works usually sends out a press release a couple of weeks before the sweeping starts in the spring, and they haven't put out that release yet this year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2095284393772305956.post-11067599007581262272011-02-28T10:56:09.524-05:002011-02-28T10:56:09.524-05:00It makes no sense that there are parking restricti...It makes no sense that there are parking restrictions for street sweeping on 15th next to the bike lane -- cars don't interfere (I wouldn't think) with those little mini-sweepers they use.
